In September 2020, Performance Excellence Partners (PEP) was awarded two contracts by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to support the work efforts of the Office of Job Corps (OJC), Division of Regional Operations and Program Integrity (DROPIR). PEP will provide OJC with assistance in the areas of physical security and site safety as well as personnel security.
PEP’s physical security specialist will help assure the safety of Job Corps sites by collecting, reporting, and researching physical security policies, procedures, tools, and technologies; by conducting on-site physical security assessments and reporting and identifying mitigation strategies; and by performing research and offering recommendations for various security initiatives.
PEP’s team of personnel security specialists will provide administrative and clerical support in the implementation of the OJC’s applicant background check program. Support will include entering, verifying, clarifying, and tracking background check submissions; fulfilling customer support and contact duties; coordinating with admissions counselors; managing email and file repositories; and other tasks.
Job Corps is a national residential training and employment program administered by DOL to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth throughout the United States. It provides comprehensive career development services to students including academic, career technical, career success and independent living skills, career readiness training, and support services.
PEP, a management consulting firm with 20 years of service to federal clients, has established itself as a trusted partner at DOL and other federal agencies. In addition to these two contracts, PEP was recently awarded a contract with DOL’s Veteran’s Employment and Training Services (VETS) and one with the U.S. Coast Guard. PEP is also performing work as a prime contractor for the Department of Justice (DOJ), Human Resources Division, and for the National Science Foundation (NSF), Division of Human Resources Management. PEP is a subcontractor on several projects for DOL and the United States Air Force.
Previous PEP contracts include more than 144 complex, multi-task workforce development projects, including 54 DOL prime contracts. PEP has also served the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Cyber Security and Communications; the DOL Women’s Bureau; and the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Family Assistance, to name a few. PEP was named 2013 Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year by the Department of Energy.
